We are excited to announce that Chef Marcus Samuelsson is joining our team as an investor, culinary advisor and launch partner.
Samuelsson is a celebrity chef with over a dozen restaurants around the world. He is also a New York Times best-selling author and a TV personality, having written Yes, Chef: A Memoir and hosted No Passport Required on PBS. He is currently appearing as an Iron Chef on Netflix’s hit Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.
Chef Marcus will advise us in a culinary capacity, including product development and go-to-market strategies, and will work closely with us as we bring Aleph Cuts to Singapore and Israel later this year and to the United States next year, upon receiving regulatory approvals. He has also invested in Aleph Farms.
We are particularly thrilled about our partnership with Chef Marcus because he is a leader who shares Aleph Farms’ values of creativity and courage, and cares about making a positive impact on people and the world around us. He and other influential chefs will prove invaluable partners in meeting diners’ demand for delicious, safe and sustainable food choices.
Meanwhile, Samuelsson sees Aleph as a leader at the forefront of world-changing technology:
“It’s essential that we look for new ways to feed our planet sustainably, which is why I was attracted to the mission of Aleph Farms and being part, both as a chef and as an investor, in bringing delicious, cultivated meat to the table,” said Samuelsson. “Right now, it’s a pioneering movement and one that I think will only grow to be more important and increasingly commonplace in our lives. What once felt futuristic – like electric cars – soon becomes familiar. This is a game-changing moment in the industry to invest in the future, and I’m excited to partner with an innovative company like Aleph Farms.”
Culturally relevant and high-quality products are better suited to drive long-term impact because they connect with diners on an emotional level. Aleph Farms’ strategy centers on being able to offer a diverse portfolio of cultivated animal products that meets a wide array of consumer preferences. By producing different kinds and cuts of cultivated steak, our first product brand Aleph Cuts can appeal to the diversity of cuisine and culture around the world.
